About Our Project
Documenting the living, breathing language of Nepal's streets and communities
This Nepali Slang Dictionary is an effort to collect, document, and organize the slang words and phrases used in everyday life, from street talk to popular culture. It shows how the Nepali language has evolved over time by blending with different cultures — including pop culture, Newari, Hindi, English, and many of Nepal's more than 120 spoken languages and dialects.
It reflects the way people actually speak, mixing influences from regional dialects, media, youth culture, and daily experiences. This dictionary is not created by language experts — it's a community-driven project where anyone can submit new words or meanings.
