In informal Nepali speech, "muji" is a highly vulgar and offensive slang term. While its literal translation refers to asshole, it is almost exclusively used as a harsh insult equivalent to calling someone an "asshole" or "motherfucker" in English. It is employed to express extreme anger, contempt, or frustration toward someone and is considered deeply disrespectful. The word is strongly taboo and should be avoided in polite, formal, or mixed company, as its use can easily provoke confrontation or cause serious offense. It is most commonly heard in heated arguments or among very close friends in extremely casual settings where vulgar language is normalized, though even then, it remains a strong slur.
